If there’s one thing Unai Emery has done well at since joining Arsenal last year, it’s bringing in new players.
Stephan Lichtsteiner and Denis Suarez aside, the Spaniard has managed to bring in some impressive players to north London that have not only improved the squad but also have room to grow as better players in the future, and one of the biggest success so far has been the signing of Lucas Torreira.
The Uruguayan has been one of the club’s signings of the season after taking to Premier League football like a duck to water and filling in a hole in the Arsenal team that has needed filling for years, but the midfield could still be fortified more, and recent rumours link the Gunners with a player who can do just that.
According to AS via Sport Witness, Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele is interested in a move to the Premier League, and for Arsenal, the £60 million-rated French international could be the perfect player to partner Torreira in the Gunners XI.
Since joining the French giants for £7.2 million and making a name for himself in the world of football, Ndombele has made a name for himself as one of the most complete midfielders in Europe, and for Arsenal, he would be a brilliant addition to play alongside Torreira.
The prospect of an Ndombele and Torreira midfield would be one of the best in the Premier League and ensure Arsenal more defensive security to shield their leaky defence, and as well as keeping the back line protected, the duo will be beneficial in the attack as well.
Ndombele is a player who can pick a pass out anywhere on the pitch whereas Torreira has shown he likes to go forward when given the opportunity, and these two together could marshal the next great Arsenal central midfield pairing should Unai Emery go in for the French international.
Arsenal fans, would Ndombele be Torreira’s perfect midfield partner? Let us know!
