Arsenal target blockbuster trio as Wenger embarks on stunning £80m spree

London buses anyone? The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are cranking the karaoke machine right up and dancing on the pool tables right now following reports from the Sun

They claim that under fire Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is ready to commission a stunning £80m spending spree in order to land three big name targets this summer.

After opting against buying a single senior outfield player last summer, the legendary French coach has come under intense scrutiny this season as another title challenge faded away during the proverbial business end of the season.

However, the mounting fan frustration in North London could yet be quashed should the 66-year old manage to bring in these three targets.

The club are believed to be nearing a £30m deal for Swiss international midfielder Granit Xhaka in order to add a measure of metal into the middle of the park.

In the wake of the news key forward Danny Welbeck would be out for nine months, Wenger has reportedly focused his attentions on bringing in BOTH Juventus star Alvaro Morata and Borussia Dortmund attacker Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

The former is one of the most highly rated strikers in Europe and would go some way into improving an ailing frontline led by the lambasted Olivier Giroud.

Real Madrid are now believed to be unlikely to invoke their £23m buy-back clause for the Spaniard, opening up the potential for a £30m deal between Arsenal and the Old Lady.

Mkhitaryan meanwhile could be a replacement for Alexis Sanchez, who has been continually linked with both Bayern Munich and Juventus.

Would the signing of these three stars win Arsenal the league, considering what they already have?
