Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are a nervous bunch these days, as they frantically await some positive news concerning a long-term contract stand-off.
Both Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil have entered the final 18 months of their contracts in North London and Arsenal are desperately trying to get the pair to secure their futures to new long-term deals, although there’s yet to be a breakthrough.
The situation has attracted some of Europe’s big hitters to register an interest and Juventus have reportedly been eyeing a January swoop, as they feel they can land the Chilean’s signature due to his contract situation.
However, The Daily Mirror reports that Arsenal have warned the Italian giants off a move for the Premier League’s joint top-scorer as they continue with negotiations and have no desire to see Alexis leave anytime soon.
Arsenal have lodged contract offers to Alexis and Ozil but news on their future is yet to break, with our landlord believing this isn’t the last we’ll hear of Juventus’ interest in Alexis over the coming months.
