After months of speculation, the hammer fell on Arsenal fans upon the announcement of ace midfielder Aaron Ramsey joining Juventus next season.

What’s worse is he’s joining as a free agent and the Gunners are having to let go of their most prolific midfielder without getting anything in return.

Even after contract talks broke down due to Arsenal not willing to give Ramsey a hefty pay-raise, the Welsh midfielder’s maintained utmost professionalism in performing for the Premier League giants. Despite being forced to play from the bench in the major part of the season, Ramsey’s often been Arsenal’s best player in the middle.

He’s scored two goals, while delivering six assists from 22 appearances, 13 of which were from the bench. Ramsey’s shown determination and imagination Arsenal’s other midfielders aren’t capable off, often helping Unai Emery's side get crucial victories.

Indeed, he’s worked to the strengths of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang Alexandre Lacazette, creating many chances for the duo and his exit is clearly a blow to everyone connected to the club.

While Arsenal fans might be mocking the alleged £400,000 per week wage the Old Lady’s giving him, it’s only possible because Juventus aren’t having to pay a dime to Arsenal. They’re just using what would’ve been the transfer fee to reimburse Ramsey and getting an experienced, creative central midfielder in return.

Ramsey can improve Juventus’ game with his drive as well as provide the missing creativity from the middle.

While the Welsh wizard helps the Italian giants assert their European dominance, Arsenal have to spend big bucks to replace Ramsey with someone of equal calibre. They've really lost out on this one.
