Arsenal might go through a minor overhaul this summer as some big figures are looking to find their way out of the club. But the Gunners are also on a lookout for fresh blood and an exclusive report from Football Ghana claims they have been keeping an eye on Atletico Madrid's Thomas Partey. This absolute powerhouse of a midfielder would be a rather brilliant signing for the London club, and not to mention a necessary one as well.

There's been a lot of talk of departures within Arsenal these last couple of weeks as some of the club's big-shots are nearing the exit door. Some contract are close to being finished and some others have simply not performed as well as they should've. That is the nature of football and change is a constant part of it. Unai Emery is well aware of that fact and has therefore taken to the market in search of a worthy candidate, which, if the reports are to be believed, has led him to Thomas Partey. And it just might be a home-run.

This 25-year-old Ghanaian midfielder offers a versatile skill set to Atletico Madrid, dictating the games going both forward and backward. His physical presence cannot be overlooked as this complete powerhouse of a player often bosses the middle of the pitch as if it's his own. Arsenal are in dire need of someone who can control the pace of the match and suit it to the team's needs. Not to mention that Partey offers a more than decent return in numbers, totalling three goals and six assists in all competitions last season.

He is also in his prime years and playing the best football of his career. Seeing how such players are in high demand and are usually pretty expensive, Partey's £43.5m release clause makes this deal that much easier, and more importantly, cheaper. This is especially true when we factor in his estimated Transfermarkt value of £45.00m, which means that paying the release clause is the way to go.

If the Gunners are really serious about letting the likes of Mesut Ozil go this summer, they will need someone who can slot straight into the team and replicate the German's return immediately. Partey is a player who fits that profile, offers the versatility, stability and danger for the opposition's goal. All of this makes him a rather necessary signing for Arsenal and his price makes him an absolute steal in the modern market.

Stan Kroenke would be more than wise to pounce on this chance, activate the release clause and give Thomas Partey a home at the Emirates. It sounds like a no-brainer but the Gunners will have to hurry because the chances are, they're not the only ones prowling around Atletico's camp...
