Arsenal to double star’s wages to ward off interest

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have been in good spirits of late thanks to their strong start to the season under Arsene Wenger.

With the 66-year-old finally splashing the cash in the transfer market, the Gunners look well-equipped for a title challenge at long last.

For now at least.

While a crumbling at the Emirates is largely becoming an annual thing, reports in the Sun have only widened the smiles of our north London locals.

They’ve revealed the club are prepared to DOUBLE Hector Bellerin’s wage in order to keep him out of Barcelona or Manchester City’s clutches.

Reportedly on £50k-per-week, the Spaniard is understood to be in line for a bumper new deal with the club as they desperately try and secure his long-term future.

That could see his weekly wage rise to as high as £96k.

One of the elite defensive talents on the continent, the 21-year-old speedster represents the future for the club, at a time when world football isn’t consistently producing top quality full-backs.

Will Bellerin remain at Arsenal for many years to come? Let us know below…
