Arsenal are a team in transition but their start under Unai Emery will be filling fans with optimism for the future months.
A mixed bag of results don’t present the true story about Arsenal’s start to the 2018/19 season as Emery and a number of new faces have been impressive, leading to fans gaining more and more belief by the game that this season will be one they enjoy.
Their attacking threat looks even more potent than ever and the added quality in midfield makes Arsenal a completely new threat going forward, however defensively, it’s the same old story.
Too many times they have been let down by the defence and that needs to be rectified by signing Porto’s left-back Alex Telles.
Alex Telles is a quality left-back that would provide so much to Arsenal down the left-hand side. Valued at £22.5 million on Transfermarkt, the Brazilian wouldn’t break the bank but would surely be a star at the Emirates.
With the ability to also play further forward as a left-midfielder, Telles could provide competition for places in numerous areas and that is a great idea for Unai Emery. You only have to look at his impact at Porto last season to understand why Telles is a signing Arsenal need to make, as the 25-year-old provided a staggering 20 assists in 45 appearances.
Nacho Monreal has been an important player for the Gunners but soon the time will come where Telles’ superiority overtakes the Spaniard and gives Arsenal a better option on the left-hand side.
Do you agree that Telles would be a great signing for Arsenal… Let us know Gunners!
