Arsenal and Unai Emery are a combination that continue to blossom, which leads Gunners fans to believe that the glory days could be on the verge of returning.
By on the verge of returning that still means a couple of seasons at least, due to the immense competition of high-quality teams around them and the fact Unai Emery is still getting accustomed to his players and England itself.
With a newly-adopted four at the back formation, Arsenal have Nacho Monreal at left-back who has been solid and consistent for them over the years but, should they persist with that formation perhaps a younger, fresher pair of legs in the form of AC Milan’s Ricardo Rodriguez would be a better investment.
Rodriguez, (who is valued at £13.5 million on Transfermarkt) is a player who Arsenal reportedly desperately tried for this summer, not because their left-backs are bad but simply because the Swiss is an upgrade on the ageing Monreal and injury-prone Sead Kolasinac.
The attacking left-back has played in every game for AC Milan so far this season and continues to perform at a high level, like he consistently does for Switzerland as well.
As well as defensive attributes, Rodriguez has a mean left-foot that provides a dangerous cross or free-kick almost every game and that’s why he rates as one of the best in the business.
Arsenal are looking to return to the very best of their form and that can only be done by bringing in talented players to improve their team, which he certainly would do.
