The Arsenal supporters in the Transfer Tavern have been drowning their sorrows of late following a title chance-blowing loss to Everton.
With Chelsea and Manchester City winning too, the Gunners have fallen further behind the pace setters in the Premier League, much to the dismay of the north London locals.
Now, following reports from the Sun, their moods have been further soured today.
They claim top brass at the Emirates are yet to open talks with popular defender Kieran Gibbs over a new deal at the club.
The England international is one of a number of players entering the final 18 months or so of his deal at the Emirates, where he has racked up 130 appearances.
As popular as he is amongst our drinkers, the form of Nacho Monreal has been hard to ignore recently for both the fans and Arsene Wenger.
With Premier League quality full-backs, especially those who are English, at a premium these days, it’s likely Gibbs will be of interest throughout the top flight.
He’ll be able to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with foreign parties this time next year, with no talks reportedly on the horizon.
Should Arsenal offer Gibbs a new deal? Let us know below…
