Arsenal’s Wembley hero scouted by potential suitor and cup joy could be short-lived

Perhaps indicative of life as an Arsenal supporter these days, yesterday’s FA Cup semi-final win over Manchester City has been tempered somewhat.

Though the Gunners were celebrating yesterday, the more pessimistic lot amongst them were eager to point out reports from German outlet Kicker (further sourced by the Daily Mirror) today in regards to their FA Cup hero.

They claim Alexis Sanchez has emerged as Bayern Munich’s No.1 transfer target this summer, with representatives understood to have been casting keen eyes over the Chilean at Wembley yesterday.

With just 12 months to go on his current deal, the former Barcelona star’s future has been a hot topic of debate in recent months and the Bundesliga titans are believed to have made him their priority.

While the likes of Juventus and Manchester City are also said to be keen, Bayern are thought to believe Sanchez could help take some of the pressure off of Robert Lewandowski, as well provide a long-term replacement for Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben.

As you can imagine, the Gunners in the bar are dreading another transfer saga this summer.
