With the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern remaining hopeful that the Gunners could yet win an FA Cup, these are strange times for our north London locals.
It’s barely been a vintage year at the Emirates and many of the fans appear to have lost faith with owner Stan Kroenke as a result of their prolonged plight. Which is why reports from ESPN have sparked so much debate.
They claim the American has no intention of selling his controlling stake in the club, despite a recent bid from minority shareholder Alisher Usmanov. Indeed, Kroenke is believed to be keen on winning the league during his ownership of the club, as well as making the Gunners competitive in the Champions League.
Despite his reported hopes and dreams for Arsenal, the north London locals in the Tavern don’t see how either can happen under the current regime and are angry Kroenke seems to be sticking around.
