Bournemouth deal for Arsenal’s Wilshere edges ever closer

As the punters in the Transfer Tavern wait with baited breath as Deadline Day edges ever closer to sundown, the developments are coming thick and fast.

Oddly, celebrating the loudest at this time in the afternoon are some of the punters who tend to be rather quiet.

The Bournemouth fans are dancing on the pool tables after Sky Sports revealed Jack Wilshere was travelling down to the South Coast after agreeing to join the Cherries on a season-long loan.

While BBC Sport journalist David Ornstein had earlier claimed the 24-year-old had agreed terms with Roma, he later revealed that the Gunners had snubbed the Serie A side’s offer.

Now, Sky seem to think the England international has decided to join Eddie Howe at the Vitality Stadium as he looks to get his injury-stricken career back on track.

It represents quite the coup for the (relative) Premier League minnows, who broke their transfer record for Liverpool ace Jordon Ibe earlier this summer.

Afte being left out of Sam Allardyce’s first England squad, the midfielder will now be afforded a chance to star in a side, after being left on the bench for the Gunners’ start to the season.

Can a temporary move away help Wilshere finally fulfil his immense potential? Let us know below…
