Celtic linked with move for Premier League man, player could be open

With the Celtic fans in the Transfer Tavern excited about what seems like a huge likely return to the Champions League proper, there certainly have been some celebrations.

Indeed, the Bhoys in the bar are hopeful of an extended adventure in Europe’s elite competition, so are eager to see some new faces brought to Glasgow before the end of the summer.

So, reports from the Daily Mirror have proven rather interesting. They claim the SPFL champions are battling Leeds United over a potential deal to bring Chuba Akpom to the club.

The Arsenal forward is obviously a talented player, though faces an almighty task of breaking into the Gunners’ first-team, so is said to be considering quitting his boyhood charges.

Brendan Rodgers is understood to be on the lookout for a new forward to compete with the likes of Leigh Griffiths and Moussa Dembele this season, much to the delight of our punters clad in green and white.

Landlord’s Verdict:

Akpom is obviously a talent and, at 21, has years to improve. Celtic fans saw just how good Moussa Dembele was in Scotland.

Now, while we’re not saying Akpom is as good as the Frenchman, would provide an interesting option indeed.
