Champions League specialist is surely the only man for Arsenal this summer

Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are celebrating the incredible career of Arsene Wenger who signed off on his time at the Emirates with a crushing 5-0 victory over Burnley. Indeed, the less said about his away record, the better…

The longest-serving manager in Premier League history will finally depart the club following 21 years of service this weekend, making some of our resident Gooners feel rather emotional. Wenger delivered three Premier League titles and seven FA Cup trophies during his tenure – making him arguably their greatest manager ever, despite events in recent years.

Now, Arsenal’s board will have a tough decision to make on who replaces Wenger at the helm. Many names have been linked with the job including Massimiliano Allegri, Mikel Arteta and Luis Enrique. However, the man they should make their number one priority is Carlo Ancelotti.

Ancelotti is one of the world’s best managers but is out of work after being sacked by Bayern Munich in September. The Italian has lifted titles in every country he has managed in – including England where he delivered the Premier League title to Chelsea. During his time with Blues, he also lifted the Champions League trophy. Only the great Bob Paisley has raised as many Champions League trophies as the Italian (3).

The 58-year-old is the perfect man for the job at the Emirates. Known as a great man manager, Ancelotti would completely transform the dressing room in North London and instil a winning mentality into a weak squad. He has a name which would attract some of the best players in the world to the Emirates.

Forget Enrique, forget Allegri – Ancelotti is the man that Arsenal should go all out for.
