Our Arsenal fans here in the Transfer Tavern really have had enough of this season and all the set-backs they have received over the course of it.
The Gunners really have had another poor year with them once again getting humiliated in Europe and falling out of the Premier League title race just as it began to get towards the business end.
Naturally, then, Gunners fans have been quick to hammer their players and manager, Arsene Wenger, as well as the board for yet another capitulation.
Indeed, many have felt that this is the least harmonious they’ve seen the club under the Frenchman’s guise and – if celebrity fan Alan Davies’ claim has any substance to it – that appraisal seems pretty accurate.
Speaking to The Tuesday Club podcast and as quoted by The Metro, the comedian and Arsenal fan claimed that there had been a big bust-up between Steve Bould and Mesut Ozil after the Gunners lost at Bayern Munich 5-1.
“Steve Bould threw a plastic bottle at Mesut Ozil in the Allianz arena dressing room.
“And either Bould or Ozil can sue me if they like, but that’s true.
“So there is anger in there.”
Davies seems pretty sure this happened, then, and for two key men in the Arsenal set-up to be acting like this suggests there really is an issue at the club.
