With only Granit Xhaka of note through the door at the Emirates Stadium, the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have the rather familiar feeling of disappointment at this stage in the summer.
However, one of the more eagle eyed Gunners propping up the bar has found reports on Twitter that could completely reignite their optimism.
According to Eurosport journalist Ilyes Ramdani, Leicester City superstar Riyad Mahrez has told ‘all parties’ that he wants to move to North London.
Lui a donc exprimé sa position aux différentes parties (son souhait de signer à Arsenal) mais il ne forcera pas la main de Leicester.

While he is said to want the move, it is believed the 24-year old harbours too much respect for the club to force a move away from the East Midlands, though has reportedly made his desires clear to everyone involved.
“No one will have missed the fact the player remains silent and has not once said or insinuated he wants to stay at Leicester, but he completely refuses to go head to head with a club he has a lot of respect for (and who obviously want to keep him)”, the journalist tweeted.
“He has therefore told all parties about his wish to play for Arsenal), but he won’t force a move away from Leicester.”
Would Mahrez win Arsenal the league? Do they have any hope of tempting him away from Leicester City? Let us know below…
