‘Come back now please’ – Arsenal fans urge ex-captain to return to club after tweet

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to a tweet from Chelsea midfielder, Cesc Fabregas. The Spaniard replied to a tweet from an Arsenal fan asking if he would return to The Emirates in the future if he was given the chance, to which he replied with of course. The hint from the 30-year-old has prompted a number of replies from Arsenal fans on Twitter.

Fabregas made over 300 appearances for Arsene Wenger’s side as he endeared himself to the fans during his eight full seasons in North London before leaving for his first club, Barcelona. Now 30-years-old Fabregas is enjoying his fourth season at Stamford Bridge with Arsenal’s rivals Chelsea. Fabregas’ move from Barcelona to Chelsea angered a number of Arsenal fans at the time as they believed the World Cup winner has chosen Chelsea over a return to The Emirates.

The Arsenal fans propping our bar up seem ready to forgive the midfielder for his Chelsea years though as a number of our resident Gunners couldn’t help but reminisce over his time at the club throughout the majority of the 2000’s. The legendary Spaniard has amassed 110 caps for his country in his incredible career and could be looking to make an exit from Chelsea in the coming years due to a lack of game time under Antonio Conte in the last couple of seasons. Either way, the Arsenal fans will always have a soft spot for Fabregas and it won’t be a surprise to see him donning an Arsenal tracksuit in the future if he does get the chance with Arsenal.

Here’s what our local Gunners’ made of Fabregas’ hint:
