Crystal Palace reject first Premier League bid for Zaha

In the Football Transfer Tavern and indeed the Mail Online, one of the most talked about players this season so far has been Crystal Palace youngster Wilfried Zaha who has been strongly linked with a move away from Selhurst Park this January transfer window.

The player has attracted glances from a host of clubs in the Premier League. Zaha himself has even admitted that he would be willing to move if the deal was right for both himself and the club, and it looks like this January that a deal could come to pass.

The 20-year-old has drawn out two of the Premier League big guns in Arsenal and Manchester United who are now in a direct fight to land the player that Palace value at £20 million – yet would be allowed to leave for slightly less.

Zaha himself claimed that: “I’ve played more than 100 first team games and this year is crucial to develop my football career. I want to establish myself in the Premier League and in international football.”

With Wenger failing in his chase for Nani and Sir Alex Ferguson after new blood, the race for the England International only looks set to hot up with an £8 million initial bid from Manchester United believed to have been rejected.
