Arsenal are unlikely to add to their squad ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline.

Unai Emery has wasted no time in revamping his squad after replacing Arsene Wenger as Arsenal manager this summer. The Spaniard has brought five new players to the Emirates as the Gunners look to challenge for the title with Manchester City next year. They begin the 2018/19 campaign with a visit from the reigning champions.

With a day remaining in the transfer window, much of the focus hasn’t been on transfers this week. Much to the dismay of the Arsenal fans, Stan Kroenke has bought out Alisher Usmanov’s shares in the club for a reported £550m to take full control of the club. The businessman is an unpopular figure in North London, and the move has upset many of the Arsenal faithful.

To get the fans back on side, Arsenal should launch a late move to sign Ajax wonderkid – David Neres. Valued at £18m by Transfermarkt, the Brazilian enjoyed a stellar campaign in the Eredivisie. The winger netted 14 goals and notched 11 assists for his team-mates in just 28 league starts.

The 21-year-old possesses blistering pace and excellent dribbling ability which makes him a nightmare for defenders. Neres loves to beat his man and averaged 3.6 dribbles per game last season – more than any other Arsenal player (WhoScored). His arrival could also mean even more goals for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette as Neres averaged 2.2 key passes per game last season – only Mesut Ozil averaged more in the Arsenal squad (WhoScored).

Adding the Brazil U20 international to their attack would complete an excellent window for the Gunners.

Arsenal fans, thoughts?
