Deals could prove too expensive as transfer frustration continues for Arsenal

Arsenal’s thrilling 4-3 win over Leicester City on Friday is still being talked about by the punters in the Transfer Tavern.

While the Gunners propping up our bar are still annoyed by their lack of defensive nous, the fact that they finally have a striker to shout about in Alexandre Lacazette has gone down rather well.

Though our north London locals are hoping to see Arsene Wenger bring in some more signings over the course of the summer, they want the squad currently available to him considerably thinned.

Indeed, there are an awful lot of players on the books at the Emirates at the moment, so Le Prof needs a clear out.

Which is why reports from the Daily Mirror have gone down well. They claim Newcastle United have made enquiries for TWO Arsenal outcasts in the shape of Jack Wilshere and Lucas Perez.

The Gunners are reportedly willing to do business, though are said to want to recoup £17m on Perez, as well as wanting £20m for Wilshere. Still, that could price the Toon Army out of any deals, much to the frustration of our resident Arsenal supporters.

They want to make room in the squad, even if it means missing out on a bit of money.

Landlord’s Verdict:

It is important Arsenal start shifting players and, the longer this goes on, they will get even less money for their outcasts.

With clubs knowing they need to sell, offers won’t be as substantial with little time left, so trying to strike a deal for both Perez and Wilshere ASAP is hugely important.
