The Gunners in the Transfer Tavern popping for a Friday night pint have been greeted with some welcome news in the transfer market at long last.
While he may not be in the class of Leonardo Bonucci or Thiago Silva, the Gunners have landed the signing of Bolton Wanderers.
The 20-year old was one of few Trotters to emerge from the miserable last campaign in Lancashire with his reputation in tact, winning the club’s Player of the Year along the way.
He travelled with Gareth Southgate’s England under-21 squad that won the Toulon Tournament, partnering Gunners ace Calum Chambers in central defence at times, and has now moved to North London following the club’s relegation into League One.
Bournemouth, Everton and Spurs were also linked with the defender, though it is Arsene Wenger who has won the hotly contested race for Holding.
Will Holding develop into the next John Stones?
