‘Don’t know how I feel’ – Some Arsenal fans are in shock over left-field transfer rumour

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are still raw from the news that Jack Wilshere has left The Emirates, ending his 17-year affiliation with the club. However, according to Volkan Demir, a reporter from Sabah, the 26-year-old midfielder is set to sign for Turkish club, Fenerbahce.

This news won’t go down well with the Arsenal fans propping our bar up as they all firmly believe that the English midfielder had much more to offer and a move to Fenerbahce sees his talents wasted. Most fans thought the 26-year-old would end up playing in Europe somewhere, but with his rumoured destinations the likes of Spain, Italy and France, it’s come as a huge shock to see him swapping London for Istanbul.

The move is likely just a stop-gap for Wilshere, who will be hoping he can get a good season with lots of game time under his belt before making a move back to one of Europe’s top leagues soon. It’s unclear what his motives are in this case but it’s a move that has baffled the Gunners. Most of them would have him back in a heartbeat and they all view his move to Turkey as a waste of his talents.
