The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are still raw from the news that Jack Wilshere has left The Emirates, ending his 17-year affiliation with the club. However, according to Volkan Demir, a reporter from Sabah, the 26-year-old midfielder is set to sign for Turkish club, Fenerbahce.
This news won’t go down well with the Arsenal fans propping our bar up as they all firmly believe that the English midfielder had much more to offer and a move to Fenerbahce sees his talents wasted. Most fans thought the 26-year-old would end up playing in Europe somewhere, but with his rumoured destinations the likes of Spain, Italy and France, it’s come as a huge shock to see him swapping London for Istanbul.
The move is likely just a stop-gap for Wilshere, who will be hoping he can get a good season with lots of game time under his belt before making a move back to one of Europe’s top leagues soon. It’s unclear what his motives are in this case but it’s a move that has baffled the Gunners. Most of them would have him back in a heartbeat and they all view his move to Turkey as a waste of his talents.

Wilshere = Fenerbahçe
I don’t now how I feel about this, but I wish you all the best Champ..

@Fenerbahce fans are very lucky. Jack Wilshere is world class. So happy to see him go to such a good and well run club. Come on boys

I wanted Wilshere to go abroad, but to Italy, Spain or Germany to become a better player….this is a waste of why should be prime years https://t.co/O5NevIN8fY

Wilshere wasn’t needed apparently

#AFC | Wilshere on his way to Fenerbahce? I guess all those brilliant offers he had on the table just vanished into thin air. The lack of interest from the bigger sides proves what I’ve been saying about him all last season. Finished.

Wilshere off to Fenerbahce? Strange one tbh. Surely he had offers from England…

There’s a mixture of shock and frustration among the Arsenal fans as they would still take Wilshere back in a heartbeat ahead of his strange move to Turkey.
