Emery would have Arsenal’s best playmaker since Cesc with swoop on £22.5m-rated man

Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are glad that Arsene Wenger’s successor has finally been announced – our punters reckon he will be a big hit in North London.

Former PSG boss Unai Emery is the man the Gunners have chosen to take the reins following Wenger’s departure despite former captain Mikel Arteta leading the race for the job. The Spaniard arrives after lifting four trophies during his time in France. The 46-year-old also guided Sevilla to three consecutive Europa League trophies.

Emery’s attention will now turn to the summer transfer window and work closely with sporting director Sven Mislintat will try to identify players who can implement his style of play. One man they should attempt to lure from RB Leipzig is Emil Forsberg. The Swedish international has been one of the club’s stars players during their rise to prominence and has attracted interest from all over Europe.

Valued at £22.5m by Transfermarkt, Forsberg is one of the main reasons behind Timo Werner’s excellent form in the Bundesliga. With pace and excellent dribbling, the 26-year-old is a nightmare for defenders. He also possesses expert movement, continually ghosting into space and creating space for team-mates.

Not since Cesc Fabregas have also had a player, who can unlock defences in the way Forsberg can. Indeed, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette ahead of him, he could turn out to be one of the signings of the summer.
