Emile Smith Rowe and Mavropanos must start for Arsenal under Emery

Arsenal will be desperate to enjoy a positive start to life in Europe under Unai Emery as Arsene Wenger couldn’t quite give supporters the fairytale ending last time out.

The Gunners have been in fine form recently and don’t look like slowing down anytime soon under Emery, despite a disappointing start to proceedings. Although, the Europa League is a competition that the Gunners will be looking to secure silverware in, after being knocked out by Atletico Madrid last time round.

However, Arsenal will welcome FC Vorskla to the Emirates Stadium in their first Europa League group stage match. The Ukrainian side will be desperate to cause an upset against the Premier League side, so the Gunners mustn’t become complacent.

And, one thing that Emery could look at doing is giving a couple of youngsters a go, which is something that Arsene Wenger was never afraid to do.

With that in mind, here’s a look at TWO youngsters that can ensure an Emery Euro masterstroke…

Emile Smith Rowe

The 18-year-old established himself as one of the hottest prospects in English football during pre-season and now looks set to be handed a starting place in the Europa League.

Indeed, the attacking midfielder managed to find the back of the net from range against Atletico Madrid as he opened his account for the club, but he will now be hungry to add to that tally.

Konstantinos Mavropanos

The Greek defender has featured three times in the Premier League for the Gunners, but could be handed his first European appearance since making the move to the Emirates in January.

Interestingly, the 20-year-old’s height allows him to be dominant in the air and he isn’t afraid to play the ball along the floor, which is definitely a bonus when playing under a coach like Unai Emery who promotes that kind of play.
