While we best associate Arsenal players with their penchant for free flowing, fancy football, a recent video released by Europcar has helped some of the first-team stars demonstrate their acting ability.
Theo Walcott, Danny Welbeck and Petr Cech take to the small screen in a short promotional video, having rented a car and missed the team bus up to an away game after a day out.
Welbeck, driving the car, doesn’t seem best pleased and the stress of taking the wheel on the long drive to their destination puts the former Manchester United ace in a pretty sullen mood throughout their journey.
Still, when the marksman is asked if he would prefer to give up his duties as designated driver, he bluntly refuses. And refuses. And refuses again.
At one point, the (what the locals in the Transfer Tavern think is expertly done) ex-Chelsea custodian even manages to rile his teammate up by showcasing his drumming skills on the dashboard.
Adding insult to injury, he even bluntly scolds his teammate for his lack of musical knowledge, in a manner as deadpan as you expect from the Czech ace.
As poker faced as he is, even the 33-year old shot stopping show stopper can’t express his delight (nor surprise) at a comparison to Beyonce.
Yes, you read that right. Petr Cech compared to Beyonce.
It’s former Southampton prodigy Theo Walcott who excels, however, whose quips from the backseat are hilariously familiar.
Who hasn’t nodded off for a bit, fronted the rest of the vehicle with a cheesy magazine quiz, or resorted to traditional car games in order to pass the time?
It’s just a shame they end at Villa Park (which is more than can be said for Aston), when they’re due at Goodison!
Though to be fair, the Gunners had equally straightforward visits to both grounds this season.
