Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have been a grumpy bunch since the turn of the year, with the Gunners; campaign falling apart.
Whilst they still have the FA Cup to play for, tackling Manchester City at Wembley on Sunday, even the most optimistic fan in the bar isn’t predicting a positive outcome and they’re all demanding major summer improvements.
That’s why suggestions that Jack Wilshere will earn a contract extension at Arsenal have not gone down well, with the England international ruled out for the remainder of the season earlier this week with a hairline fracture.
The injury sustained during Wilshere’s season-long loan with Bournemouth is another black mark on the midfielder’s career which has been plagued by injury problems and many expected Arsenal to get rid, as his contract expires next summer.
However, it’s now reported that Arsenal are keen for the midfielder to remain at the club and will offer him fresh terms – which hasn’t gone down well with many supporters, who are questioning what he’s done to deserve a new deal.
Our landlord doesn’t think it’s a good deal for the club either, although he still feels Wilshere can be an important player for the Gunners if he overcomes his fitness problems.
It's ok, but he has to live with the competition.

Would love to see jack sign on but cannot help to think it will be like having Diaby all over again.
Sell him, yet again Arsenal relying on players who can't cut it, all he does is get hurt but let's continue to rely on him and not buy some1
