Arsenal must draw up a list of potential replacements for the potentially outgoing Aaron Ramsey.

With less than a year left on his contract, a new deal for Arsenal’s longest-serving player was expected to be sorted during the summer. Despite negotiations stalling, an agreement still seemed forthcoming after Arsenal handed Mesut Ozil a new bumper contract. However, the Gunners have decided to not meet Ramsey’s demands, and the Welshman now looks set to depart the club.

The former Cardiff City man, who scored against Fulham last weekend, has stated he will not look to leave the club in January but Arsenal will be keen to move him on to avoid losing him for nothing. Clubs are circling like sharks with Manchester United, Juventus and Liverpool all reportedly keen to secure his services. Now Unai Emery must draw up a list of potential replacements for the midfielder.

One man he should attempt to sign is Toulouse enforcer – Ibrahim Sangare. Valued at £6.75m by Transfermarkt, the Ivorian has developed into a key player for the French side and has caught the eye with a string of impressive performances in Ligue 1 this season. Now in his third year as a professional, Sangare is starting to emerge as one of the brightest prospects in France.

The 20-year-old could be the perfect partner for Lucas Torreira in the Arsenal engine room and would provide some much-needed protection for the backline. The defensive midfielder has averaged an incredible 4.3 tackles per game this season – only Idrissa Gueye has averaged more in the entire Premier League. Not only does Sangare excel defensively, but he also loves to transition defence to attack, averaging 2.2 successful dribbles per game, making him ideal for Emery’s system at the Emirates (WhoScored).

Described by his team-mates and journalists as the next Yaya Toure, signing Sangare would help Arsenal fans quickly forget about Ramsey.
