The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have been looking at their midfield options recently as they prepare for the new season. The club is yet to sign a player to bolster their midfield, but according to almost everyone, The Gunners are nearing the signing of Lucas Torreira. However, they could also be set to move for Steven N’Zonzi according to The Sun.
There were reports going around yesterday that Sevilla will negotiate with Arsenal regarding Nzonzi for €25m. Now Marca claims that they won’t accept anything less than his release clause of €40m. Should we pay it or look elsewhere? #afc

Steven N’Zonzi (who has already been linked in the Daily Mail) has already shown he can be a top player in the Premier League. Before signing for Sevilla he played his football at the Britannia Stadium for Stoke and he could now be set to make a return to the English top division with Arsenal, meaning he’ll also be playing under his former boss at Sevilla, Unai Emery. The Spanish manager has been linked with signing a number of ex-players, although N’Zonzi has been linked with the Gunners before.
Emery has supposedly toyed with the idea of bringing Ever Banega and Adrien Rabiot to The Emirates have managed both of them previously at Sevilla and PSG. The 29-year-old fits a different mould to Banega and Rabiot though. The tough-tackling midfielder has more grit to his game and would complement the Arsenal midfield, slotting in alongside Granit Xhaka and Aaron Ramsey he would be a perfect player for their system, however, the Arsenal fans don’t know about the price tag.
You can read our local Gunners’ N’Zonzi verdict here:
We’ve already got Torreira. We don’t need N’Zonzi. We need more of a creative central midfielder like Banega/Golovin to replace Wilshere/Santi.

I’d rather Doucoure but guess he’s too pricy

No way €40m for a 29 year old

We got Torreira, look for a winger.

Definitely No
Considering talents like Lozano would cost about €30m (I know his a winger) then negotiating €25m for an old plank of high inconsistency like Nzonzi should be a criminal offense.
Please GM show me why you are called Golden Eye and leave all this oldies alone.— Mbang Mbang (@Itruthbishop) July 4, 2018
I’ll be annoyed if they spend that on him

Lucas Torriera is a dm we don't need Nzonzi

As you can see, the fans don’t see the need to sign N’Zonzi as his age, price tag and the fact they’re signing Torreira all pointing to the same conclusion that they don’t need him.
