The fiery flames of the North London derby need little fanning amongst the punters propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern, though debate is always likely to break out.
With Arsenal and Spurs both winning last night, the drinks were flowing as the pair kept up their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League. Still, it’s fair to say the Tottenham-supporting punters have been enjoying this season far more than their rivals.
Leading the Gunners by 11 points as it stands, Spurs look certainties to end their hoodoo of having never finished above their bitter rivals, much to the dismay of the Emirates faithful propping up the bar.
In fact, one of the biggest names to support Arsenal has chimed in on the matter. Speaking about the result last night, Piers Morgan took to Twitter to perfectly sum up the state of play for the north London clubs right now.
Tiny flicker of happiness tonight, instantly extinguished by Spurs winning at the death. #afc
