It seems so very long now when Mesut Ozil was considered a waste of money amongst some of the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern.
Despite initially struggling upon his move from Real Madrid in 2013, the German has adapted to life in England and quickly re-established himself as one of the elite playmakers in Europe.
Looking back now, it’s crazy to think some of north London locals even wanted him OUT after a series of performances during his first season that appeared to show a complete and utter lack of heart.
Right now, it seems his standards never drop.
Amazingly, a stat revealed by Opta shows just how consistent the 28-year-old really is, despite where he plays.
Spookily, in 90 games at both Arsenal and Madrid, Ozil had registered his part in 51 goals a piece.

It’s hard to imagine the Gunners without the classy German these days, such are the nature of his heroic performances of late.
