“It would be crazy selling him” – Arsenal fans react to Wenger’s latest setback

Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have toasted a round of ale in honour of Santi Cazorla, fearing what the future may hold for the Gunners midfielder.

The Spain international is seen by many as Arsene Wenger’s best option in the engine room, linking play and launching attacks with ambi-pedal passing like no other midfielder at Arsene Wenger’s disposal.

But the former Villarreal and Malaga man hasn’t featured for the north Londoners since October, when he was substituted against Ludogorets in the Champions League after picking up an injury.

And Mirror Football revealed last night that Cazorla’s ankle problem will keep him out for the rest of the season, with the playmaker now aiming to recover his fitness in time for August, when the 2017/18 campaign will kick off.

Already aged 32, Gunners fans in the Transfer Tavern are fearing the fan favourite may well have played his last game for the club – his injury problems have notably mounted in recent campaigns.

Arsenal fans on Twitter, meanwhile, are equally concerned – whilst some have felt compelled to point the finger at the club’s medical staff.
