Spaniard Unai Emery has had a tough start to life in the Premier League, hosting Manchester City before travelling to Stamford Bridge to play Chelsea.
Arsenal struggled against the might of Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City and fell to a 2-0 defeat to the Sky Blues. Following this result, they had to visit Stamford Bridge, the Gunners played much better in this fixture, but fell to a late 3-2 defeat.
After the frustration of the tenure of Arsene Wenger, fans of the Emirates outfit would have been hoping for a better start to this campaign. It will likely take time for the Spanish boss to get the formula for success right at Arsenal, after so many years of sub-par performances.
However, whether he will be afforded that time in the era of the managerial merry-go-round is questionable. Ivan Gazidis likely already has part of his mind of whom he should employ at the helm if Unai Emery does not work out.
With that in mind, who are two managers who may be a good fit for the Gunners…
Antonio Conte, who has experience of managing, and winning, in the Premier League would be a good manager for Arsenal.
He would bring them the defensive solidity they crave. His use of wing-backs changed the English game, with this now being a style most top teams seek to employ, after Conte won Chelsea the Premier League with this system in the 2016/17 campaign.
Arsenal and Conte may just be a match made in heaven.
The Madrid-born 58-year-old must surely be tired of life under Mike Ashley.
The former Real Madrid, Napoli and Liverpool boss is a Champions League winner, and could work wonders in North London with this Arsenal squad.
He has managed a plethora of Europe’s biggest clubs and should be able to handle all of the different personalities in Arsenal’s squad.
