Arsenal sensation Jack Wilshere has used social networking site Twitter to place a wager with his fellow Spurs followers-by betting Tottenham fans that Arsenal will finish above them this season.
The midfield maestro, who is currently sidelined with an ankle injury, is fed up of having to sit back and witness delusional Spurs fans on Twitter gloat about their current run of form and how they are above rivals Arsenal in the table.
Emmanuel Adebayor’s two first half goals proved enough to secure Tottenham’s 2-0 victory over Aston Villa which saw them climb to 3rd place in the Barclays Premier league. They are now three points ahead of their North London rivals with a game in hand.
However the Arsenal 19-year-old was quick to react on Twitter and vented his opinions to those Spurs fans boasting on Twitter. The England prodigy is so confident that Arsenal will finish the season above rivals Tottenham that he tweeted to Spurs fans with a £3000 bet on offer.
He tweeted: “All Spurs fans buzzing that they are ahead of us in the league (for once). It’s a marathon, not a sprint!
“I tell you what at the end of the season if Spurs finish above Arsenal I will give £3000 to charity.
“If Arsenal finish above Spurs every Spurs fan that follows me must send me a pound each and I will give it to @Jack_Marshall_ charity!
“Do we have a deal THFC fans!?”
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger approved of Wilshere’s bet, saying: “Jack made a contest.
“I hope the charity will get a lot of money because Tottenham have a lot of fans.”
