Though it’s been far from a vintage year for the Arsenal fans frequenting the Transfer Tavern in their droves, the mood amongst them has got a little better in recent weeks.
Still in with a shout of finishing in the top four, as well as winning the FA Cup, the Gunners are looking for a strong end to what has been a turbulent campaign.
When the season does end, however, the north London giants will be faced with a major transfer decision. As you’ll know by now, star man Alexis Sanchez has frequently linked with a move away from the club as he enters the final two years on his deal.
Yet to agree fresh terms at the Emirates, the Chilean’s future has been the subject of much debate in recent months, though Sky Sports’ La Liga expert Guillem Balague has given Arsenal fans around the world a boost.

Answering a Q&A on Twitter and writing on their official wesbite, the Spanish pundit revealed that while Atletico Madrid are reportedly keen on bringing the former Barcelona man back to Spain, they probably couldn’t afford him.
He had been touted as a potential target for Los Rojiblancos, though Balague remains unconvinced he’d be in their price range.
”I don’t think they will be able to afford Alexis, which could see Alexandre Lacazette emerge as a target. In an ideal world, if the ban is lifted, they would like to sign both.”
