Journalist: This Arsenal midfielder deal is ‘possible’ in January

There isn’t exactly a wealth of transfer talk for the Arsenal fans propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern to sink their teeth into this month, despite the fact the market is open for business.

Our north London locals far from expect Arsene Wenger to spend much money in the slightest, though have been met with an interesting story out of America. According to Washington Post reporter Steve Goff, the Gunners could be set for a midfielder deal this winter.

According to a recent tweet of his, those at the Emirates could reportedly loan 19-year-old Gedion Zelalem out for the remainder of this campaign. The American has been linked with Borussia Dortmund recently, though manager Thomas Tuchel recently quashed such suggestions.

Still, Goff claims ‘interesting teams’ are thought to be in the mix for the Berlin-born ace, who impressed during his stint with Rangers last term, helping them win the Scottish Championship.

For the punters in the bar, they hope the USA U23 international can develop into a big player for the years to come, having watched so many talented youngsters fail to break the first-team across the years.

How far can Zelalem go in the game? Let us know below…
