Koeman’s Everton handed boost in pursuit of another big target

Having already brought in both Sandro Ramirez and Wayne Rooney to bolster the front line following the sale of Romelu Lukau, the Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern are rather happy indeed.

They, along with a whole host of new signings, give Ronald Koeman a bright new team to field for next season and the Toffees in the Tavern are hugely excited about the start of the new campaign. Indeed, even more so now, following reports from the Daily Telegraph.

They claim the Goodison Park club have seen their hopes of signing Arsenal forward Olivier Giroud boosted. The Frenchman has been touted for an exit from the Emirates Stadium, with Borussia Dortmund and West Ham United also linked.

Now, the German outfit are understood to have pulled out of any race to land the 30-year-old, following their reveal that Pierre-Emerick Aubamayeng would be staying for next term. With the Hammers also reportedly dropping their interest, perhaps Everton have a free run at landing the centre-forward.

The Gunners are believed to want around £20m and the Toffees are said to believe they are second on his preferred list of potential exit routes, delighting the punters propping up our. While the former Montpellier man doesn’t always convince the Arsenal fans, our resident Evertonians believe his ariel prowess will help replace Lukaku.
