Arsenal will be a frightening prospect when the squad fully adapt to Unai Emery’s methods.

The Gunners endured a difficult start to the campaign with fixtures against Manchester City and Chelsea – both resulted in defeat. However, Emery’s side bounced back with wins against West Ham, Cardiff and Newcastle United.

Replacing Arsene Wenger in the dugout was always going to be difficult, but it appears the Arsenal squad are slowly adapting to Emery’s tactics. Despite having half the points of Chelsea, the Gunners have scored only two goals fewer than the Blues who have won all four of their fixtures. There is clearly work to be done, but Arsenal aren’t far off the pace of the league leaders.

To cement their ambitions, Emery should launch an audacious bid for Bayer Leverkusen wonderkid – Leon Bailey. Valued at £40.5m by Transfermarkt, the Jamaican winger quickly rose to prominence during his time in Belgium with Genk, scoring nine goals in 35 appearances. He earned a move to Leverkusen in 2016 but only enjoyed a breakthrough season last year.

Bailey made 34 appearances in all competitions, scoring 12 goals and registering six assists. The youngster has made an excellent start to the new campaign with a goal in his first two appearances. Eager to secure the future of their prized asset, Leverkusen tied the 21-year-old down to a new contract at the end of August.

The youngster is blessed with electric pace and excellent dribbling ability which makes him a nightmare for defenders – he averaged 1.9 successful dribbles per game last season. Bailey’s arrival could also mean more goals for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as he averaged two key passes per game last season – only Mesut Ozil averaged more in the Arsenal squad last season (WhoScored). The winger would slot seamlessly into Arsenal’s starting eleven and would be a superb replacement for Alexis Sanchez.

Bringing him to North London would be expensive but the price to pay would definitely be worth it.
