Every minute that passes by without Jamie Vardy officially signing for Arsenal, the Gunners in the Transfer Tavern are growing increasingly nervous.
So, reports from the Daily Star that the North London giants could see their £20m deal for the England international forward scuppered by Liverpool have not been met with much applause.
The Reds have reportedly tracked the Leicester City title hero for two seasons and a source in the report claims he is seen as an ideal fit at Anfield.
“We know Vardy is seen as the perfect fit for Liverpool”, the source is quoted as saying.
“That’s because of his pace, work ethic, ability to run the channels – and goal-scoring ability.”
Jurgen Klopp currently has four central striking options on Merseyside in the shape of Daniel Sturridge, Danny Ings, Divock Origi and Christian Benteke.
Still, there are persistent doubts over the future of Benteke in particular, who has failed to wholly convince under both the German and Brendan Rodgers.
He has been linked with the likes of West Ham United and Chelsea after a frustrating Reds career following a £32m move from Aston Villa.
Where would Vardy fit in better, Arsenal or Liverpool?
