Mammoth boost for Arsenal in Higuain chase

The Gunners fans having breakfast in the Football Transfer Tavern this morning are breathing a sigh of relief as reports that Arsenal were on the brink of losing yet another major target have been rubbished today.

According to reports in the Metro, reports that one of the Gunners’ major targets, Gonzalo Higuain, had been subject of a £79m bid from Juventus are not true.

Edo De Laurentiis, the son of Napoli owner, Aurelio De Laurentiis, told fans that reports of the Argentinian moving to The Old Lady were “just a hoax”, and that they “mustn’t believe everything.”

These quotes came as a huge boost to the punters of a red persuasion in the bar this morning, even prompting a pair of fans to get a few early Friday pints of TT Ale in.

The 28-year-old scored 36 goals for Napoli last season helping his side to a 2nd place finish in Serie A, nine points shy of those at the Juventus Stadium.

Our Landlord was keen to add that this deal is one Man United fans should also be keeping an eye on as if Juventus are indeed willing to part with such a significant figure, it could signify their accounts have been balanced by money from the sale of Paul Pogba.

Gunners fans, we want to hear from you! Are you nervous about losing out on yet another major transfer target? Let us know below…
