Amidst the Paul Pogba to Manchester United saga, the punters in the Transfer Tavern seem to have forgotten all about a certain Blaise Matuidi.
The Frenchman is another to be linked with a move to Old Trafford from Paris Saint-Germain, having reportedly jetted to England for talks with a mystery club amid Les Blues’ EURO 2016 campaign.
While clearly he’s not as illustrious as his compatriot, the Red Devils propping up the bar this evening have been rocked following reports from talkSPORT (via TEAMtalk) that Arsenal could scupper the deal.
With the French champions having landed Grzegorz Krychowiak from Sevilla, the 29-year old could be afforded a move away from Parc de Princes.
A midfielder boasting a mammoth engine, the former Saint-Etienne man could be a welcome tonic in the Gunners’ side, who are often accused of lacking steel and determination in the middle of the park.
Matuidi is believed to be open to the idea of a move to England, after winning four consecutive league titles with Les Parisiens.
Would Matuidi beef up Arsenal’s engine room?
