Arsenal fans will be delighted with their side’s showing during the 5-1 thrashing of Fulham at the weekend.

The Gunners travelled to Craven Cottage in great form and continued their excellent showings under Unai Emery. Alexandre Lacazette opened the scoring before Andre Schurrle equalised for the hosts, but Lacazette grabbed his brace shortly after to regain the lead. The floodgates then opened with Aaron Ramsey netting a goal of the season contender and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang also notching a brace.

After losing their opening two games in the Premier League, Arsenal are beginning to show real progress under Emery and look capable of mounting a title challenge if they can perform in the big games. The partnership forming between Lacazette and Aubameyang will also concern the Gunners’ rivals with the pair enjoying a great relationship on and off the field. Despite their form, reports suggest that Arsenal will make a move for Atlanta United maestro – Miguel Almiron.

Valued at £9m by Transfermarkt, a move for the playmaker could prove to be a masterstroke. Almiron moved the MLS in December 2016 and quickly developed into a crucial player. The 24-year-old has enjoyed a stunning season so far, scoring 12 goals and registering 13 assists in just 24 appearances.

Indeed, competition in the MLS is far inferior to the Premier League meaning a move for Almiron would be risky. However, the Paraguay international possesses excellent pace and dribbling ability as well as a long-range of passing meaning he has all the attributes to be a success in the Premier League. The playmaker would also provide cover for plenty of positions as he is comfortable on the wing and could even be moulded into a striker.

If the price is right, a move for Almiron could be worth the risk.
