Arsenal head into the international break after back-to-back wins in the Premier League.
Replacing Arsene Wenger in the Emirates dugout was always going to be difficult for Unai Emery and the Spaniard was handed a difficult set of fixtures to kick off his reign. However, the Gunners responded to defeats against Manchester City and Chelsea with wins against West Ham and Cardiff. Emery will be hoping for further success against Newcastle following the conclusion of the international fixtures.
The former PSG boss strengthened heavily in the summer to bring the likes of Bernd Leno and Lucas Torreira to North London. However, Emery failed to add a quality winger to his squad to replace Alexis Sanchez who left for Manchester United in January. When the window reopens, a new winger should be top of his shortlist.
One man he should target is Real Sociedad forward – Mikel Oyarzabal. Valued at £31.5m by Transfermarkt, the 21-year-old is emerging as one of the biggest talents in Spain after breaking into the first-team at a young age. He enjoyed a stellar campaign in La Liga last year – scoring 12 goals and notching five assists.
The youngster is primarily a left winger but is also comfortable on the right flank as well as through the middle. Oyarzabal isn’t blessed with blistering pace but uses his excellent technical ability to beat his man. The Spaniard would thrive with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette ahead of him in the attack.
Oyarzabal is still developing and improving, working with a top-class coach like Emery could be ideal for his development. This move is a no-brainer for the Gunners.
