Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have been calling out for improvements from their club in terms of performances, and also players, and they may just have a reason to consider celebrating in the near future.
The Gunners are reportedly interested in bolstering their defence with the addition of Freiburg’s Caglar Soyuncu, according to the Daily Mail. The Turkey international has been attracting plenty of interest since he joined the Bundesliga outfit and has become one of the most consistent centre-backs in the league despite a difficult start.
Arsenal is reportedly one of those clubs to be eyeing up a possible move for the 6ft 2in defender, with the head of recruitment Sven Mislintat keeping tabs on his progress. Freiburg are said to be desperate to keep Soyuncu at the club, however, it is thought that an offer in the region of £30million could see him depart from the Bundesliga side.
Arsenal need to add reinforcements to their back line with many of them looking shaky at the back and prone to mistakes and with Laurent Koscielny ageing and Per Mertesacker set to retire, the defence is one of their main priorities.
Arsenal fans in the Tavern will start to become excited about the possibility of signing Soyuncu as they need to rebuild the defence immediately if they are to compete for titles. News that scouts have been watching him whilst Mislintat is also keeping an eye on his progress will only fuel the locals’ desire to get a deal done.
