Arsene Wenger, a certified legend in the Transfer Tavern, has cast a rather divisive figure amongst the Arsenal fans propping up the bar in recent seasons.
His failure to deliver anything other than the FA Cup and repeated dormancy in the transfer market has cast an unwelcome rain cloud over the Emirates Stadium for much of the past few years.
Entering the final year of his contract, it is unclear whether or not the 66-year old will extend his deal in charge of the club.
“You never know. In your job, this is a love story where you have to do [like] that it will last your whole life but, know as well, that it can stop at any moment.
“You are more asked this question the older you get, of course!”
He was also heavily linked with the England post following Roy Hodgson’s resignation after the humiliating loss to Iceland at the second round stage.
Though Sam Allardyce was eventually handed the role, Wenger has now revealed he WAS contacted, though stressed his commitment to his contract with the Gunners.
“Yes, but, you know, I think I’ve shown that I respect my contracts and I rate highly loyalty.
”And I did always that with Arsenal. I have one more year to go so I was not available anyway.”
Will this be Wenger’s last season with the club? Who should replace him?! Let us know below…
