Finally a bit of good news here at the Football Transfer Tavern for Arsenal fans. The Daily Mail report that long-term transfer target Yann M’Vila could be open to a move this January transfer window.
The 22-year-old midfielder has been a target of Arsene Wenger for a while now, and with his latest admission that he could well leave Rennes as early as in the current transfer window, it seems now is the time for Wenger to swoop.
M’Vila has talent that no one would deny, but certainly has a negative reputation off the field for being slightly difficult to control. The midfielder is currently in the middle of a ban from the French national team until June 2014. The player is still coveted by Wenger and a host of other managers however, who will all be keen to hear what M’Vila had to say.
The player who would be available for around £12 million claimed that: “If the club receive a good offer and I like the destination then I will go, there is no doubt about that. Until that happens, nothing can be said.” Of course M’Vila has been absent from the current campaign since suffering serious injury against Paris Saint Germain in November but is well on his way to recovery.
