With Arsene Wenger having left Arsenal over the course of the summer, the Gunners are going through their biggest change of the modern era. Clearly, it’s not an overnight process and not something that will even be complete in one transfer window, so incomings and outgoings are always likely to be talked about.
Indeed, Emirates cult-hero Nacho Monreal has even been touted for a surprise exit. The Spaniard, who has established himself as a firm favourite in north London over the last few years, was linked by Mundo Deportivo with a move to Barcelona, considering their relative dearth in left-back options behind Jordi Alba.
So, we recently asked our Arsenal-supporting readers whether or not they think the club should cash in on Monreal. Few would doubt his quality, as well as the impact of his recent goalscoring record, but at 32, perhaps the money men behind the scenes might fancy making some money while they can.
That may be true but, as you ‘ll see from the results of our poll, those who voted don’t agree. Interestingly, a whopping 71% of those who voted want him to stay, with only 29% of voters thinking it is time to say goodbye.
Keep scoring goals and there’s no reason why he won’t be around to delight the Arsenal faithful even further.
