Nervous times for Arsenal fans following latest report

Though the season started out with such optimism, the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern were gutted to see them lose to Stoke City last weekend,

They claim Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is unlikely to pen a new deal in north London, amid apparent from the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool. Out of contract next year, the 23-year-old is understood to be in no rush to pen a new deal.

A new contract worth over £100k-p/w is believed to have been offered, though the midfielder is not thought to be under any pressure to sign it.

Converted into a wing-back of late, his chances in central midfield are still limited and the former Southampton youngster seems to be prepared to let his contract wind down.

Landlord’s Verdict: 

Perhaps only Liverpool would be able to offer ‘The Ox’ a regular central midfield berth and the power seems to be in the player’s hands.
