Officials to jet to England with Arsenal forward deal in mind

Having watched their side ease to a win over West Ham tonight, the Arsenal fans propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern have finally been given some reprieve from their poor form.

Much has been made about the divided nature of the club right now and it’s clear the Gunners require big changes if they are going to properly battle on all fronts next season.

So, there’s been little surprise amongst our north London locals to hear about reports emanating out of Turkey. According to AMK, Fenerbahce are ready to open talks with the Emirates giants over a proposed deal for outcast forward Joel Campbell.

Despite impressing some of our locals during a few fleeting first-team outings last season, the Costa Rican international has struggled on the whole to break into the first-team, amid a succession of loan moves away from the club.

Currently out on loan with Sporting Lisbon, the 24-year-old is understood to be on the Turkish giants’ radar and officials will reportedly travel to England to discuss a potential move.

Perhaps he should have been used more over his period with Arsenal, though it’s fair to say our locals won’t be shedding too many tears if he does leave.
