There's even more Transfer Tavern News for Arsenal fans to wet their appetite as the summer transfer window continues.

New boss Unai Emery has been quick to add three new faces to the club. Bernd Leno, Sokratis Papastasthopoulos and Stephan Lichtsteiner have now joined the Emery revolution but according to reports, Nacho Monreal could be heading out of the door.

The Breakdown

Spanish side, Real Sociedad have made Nacho Monreal their top transfer target this summer according to AS.

The La Liga side, are interested in a deal for Newcastle United midfielder, Mikel Merino and have highlighted Nacho Monreal as their next target.

The Basque club finished two points off the top-half of the table and want to bolster their squad in order to push up the table. Monreal only has a year left on his current deal and could well be a smart piece of business for La Real.

From an Arsenal perspective, losing Monreal would be a huge blow ahead of the new season. After a shaky start to his Arsenal career, Monreal has gone on to become one of the best and most consistent performers at the club. Although Arsenal brought in Sead Kolasinac last year, the Spanish international kept his place in the squad and was one of the few players to play well in a pretty poor season.

Arsenal need to keep Monreal at the club at all costs. His experience at 32 is vital, and he should be a key man in helping Emery rejuvenate the club.
