Despite the fact Liverpool managed to win this weekend, the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are feeling optimistic.
Though it’s been far from a vintage year at the Emirates, Arsene Wenger’s side remaining in the running to qualify for the Champions League, as well as winning the FA Cup.
While there’s a huge amount still to play for, the latest transfer news to have emerged out of north London has somewhat distracted some our locals.
According to the Sun on Sunday (via the Newcastle Evening Chronicle), both Newcastle United and Brighton and Hove Albion are keen on Kieran Gibbs.
The 27-year-old has endured a frustrating campaign with his boyhood charges after losing his place to Nacho Monreal some months ago now.
Both clubs, newly promoted to the Premier League, are understood to be willing to offer him first-team football.
While Gibbs is by no means a regular starter for Arsene Wenger, some of the regulars in the Tavern believe he should be kept on next season, after impressing as wing-back of late.
